What are the steps, in order?
These are the steps Omnilux gives for its full-size devices.
1. Charge. Make sure the controller is charged, then connect it to the device.
2. Clean your skin. Start with freshly cleansed skin so nothing sits between the light and your face.
3. Secure the device. Fasten the mask comfortably with the hook-and-loop straps. The silicone is flexible, so it should sit close to the skin without pressure.
4. Protect your eyes as directed. The Contour Face instructions include eye protection as a step. Follow the user guide that comes with your device.
5. Start the 10-minute treatment. The treatment is hands-free, so you can sit back until it finishes.
6. Remove and moisturize. Take the device off and apply your moisturizer.
7. Wipe the device down. Gently wipe it after each use. A carry bag is included for storage.

What should you pair with the red and near-infrared devices?
Before: Enzyme Powder Cleanser is a powder cleanser with papain enzymes, rice powder and green tea that gently exfoliates. Omnilux says to use it before light sessions.
During: Hyaluronic Acid Serum has hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and licorice root, and Omnilux directs you to wear it under the device during treatment. It is the hydration step, aimed at dryness and the look of redness.
After: Peptide Concentrate is a lightweight peptide serum with Matrixyl and Argireline for the look of fine lines, applied once the treatment ends.
To finish: CoQ10 Face Cream is a weightless cream with CoQ10, squalane and allantoin for the face, neck and chest, and Antioxidant Eye Cream is patted under and around the eyes. Omnilux says both can be used daily or nightly and work best after treatment.

Omnilux describes a three-piece routine for Omnilux Clear, its blue and red light mask for blemish-prone skin.
Before: Salicylic Acid Cleanser is a foaming cleanser with salicylic and mandelic acids and niacinamide, for pore buildup and the look of large pores. It can also be your daily or nightly cleanser.
During: Noni Balancing Serum is a gel serum with noni extract and hyaluronic acid that hydrates and balances the look of excess oil. Omnilux directs you to wear it under the device.
After: Squalane Jelly Moisturizer is a weightless gel cream with squalane, niacinamide and oat kernel, applied after treatment.
How do you use the Omnilux Minis?
The Skin Corrector, Eye Brightener and Blemish Eraser work differently from the masks. They are wireless, and a hydrocolloid patch holds the device on your skin.
1. Charge the device with the magnetic charging cable.
2. Peel back side 1 of a patch, marked with a device icon, and stick it to the device.
3. Peel back side 2, marked with a face icon, and place the device on clean skin where you want it.
4. Press and hold the power button and let the 10-minute treatment run.
Patches are single-use. Each Mini comes with 14, and 20-pack refills are $44: Skin Corrector refill patches with vitamin C and azelaic acid, Eye Brightener refill patches with niacinamide and peptides, and Blemish Eraser refill patches with salicylic acid and green tea.
Can you use an Omnilux mask with retinol, vitamin C or acids?
The device instructions ask for one thing: clean skin. The simplest way to combine a mask with the rest of your routine is to treat first and apply your other products afterward.
Vitamin C and retinol: apply them after the treatment, in your normal order, followed by moisturizer. Use sunscreen every morning, as you would with any routine that includes these ingredients.
Exfoliating acids: the Omnilux cleansers already exfoliate, with enzymes in one and salicylic and mandelic acids in the other. If you use those, you may not need a separate acid on the same day.
Thick creams, makeup and sunscreen: remove them before treatment. They belong after the mask, not under it.
If you take medication or have a condition that makes your skin or eyes sensitive to light, ask your doctor before using any light device. Omnilux states that its devices are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
What are the most common mistakes?
Skipping weeks. The suggested schedule is three to five treatments a week. Irregular use is the main reason people give up.
Using it over makeup. Cleanse first, every time.
